Success at St. Martin’s Fete!
Earlier this month the annual St. Martin’s Fete was held on the cricket green, luckily we were blessed with sunshine, which attracted more visitors than ever from the other islands!
As usual the fete was a community effort, Churchtown got involved with Ben and Will frying the burgers, Zoe manning the popular cake stall and Jackie selling raffle tickets. The rest if us enjoyed the delights including the tombola, the human fruit machine and the water slide that runs between the dunes into the sea! After a successful but exhausting day the final count has just come in at £7,300, not bad for a small island! The money raised is going towards the rebuilding of St. Martin’s Reading Room.
